Sossusvlei is a huge clay pan, enclosed by gigantic mountains of sand, of which the variety of colours and shapes are fantastic! Early morning sunlight paints the dunes in dramatic hues and shadows. Check-in during the morning at Eros Airport in Windhoek. Flight in a small aircraft from Windhoek to Sesriem, the entrance gate to the Namib Naukluft Park. Short transfer from the airstrip to your exclusive lodge, where you will spend the next two nights. Upon arrival at the lodge you can relax and enjoy lunch if you like. In the late afternoon you participate in a Sundowner-Drive to explore the Namib Desert. Enjoy your sundowner and experience the dramatic change from blazing sunshine to twinkling stars. Back at your accommodation you enjoy a tasty dinner on the terrace under a starry sky.

Today you go on a guided Sossusvlei & Dead Vlei Excursion. Getting up early for your desert excursion is rewarded by the fantastic play of light and shadows. Enjoy the spectacular landscape with its pastel colors. The route leads along and across the Tsauchab dry riverbed, which has found a way through the dunes until it reaches the clay pan – the Sossusvlei. The early morning sun offers spectacular pastel colors in the star-shaped dunes. Sossusvlei is a huge clay pan, enclosed by gigantic mountains of sand, including the world’s highest dunes. Climb one of these dunes – there are plenty – and you might be overwhelmed by the sight of the dynamic and living desert! You continue to the base of the ‘Dead Vlei’. You will be rewarded for your efforts – the scenery is awesome! The pan is punctuated by blackened, dead acacia trees, in vivid contrast to the shiny white salty floor of the pan and the intense orange of the dunes. The marvelous beauty of the Vlei with its dunes and ancient camel thorn trees more than amply rewards those who journey there. During the afternoon you can relax and enjoy the vast desert landscapes. A variety of optional activities are available and can be booked.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and relax until your departure at midday. Alternatively, you can participate in an early morning Hot air Balloon flight over the Namib Desert. Fly over the vast desert and enjoy the feeling of freedom. The flight ends around 11h00 with a breakfast. Around midday transfer to the airstrip. From here flight back to Eros Airport in Windhoek.
