Your safari takes you south to the Kalahari Desert displaying interesting ecological systems and life forms. Discover the impressive Fish River Canyon and continue to the historical harbour town Lüderitz with its ghost town Kolmannskuppe. Stand in awe over the spectacular landscapes of Sossusvlei in the Namib Desert, boasting the highest dunes in the world. Explore the Atlantic coastline before you continue to the Erongo Mountains. Here Bushmen paintings are silent evidence of the early hunters who inhabited this area, telling stories of bygone eras. The Twyfelfontein area in Damaraland is renowned for some of the best examples of Rock engravings in southern Africa and a proclaimed World Heritage Site. Unique game viewing in the famous Etosha National Park, one of the oldest conservation areas in Africa. From the Waterberg Wilderness you drive south to experience fascinating leopard & cheetah sightings on a farm before you return to Namibia’s capital Windhoek.
Arrival at the Hosea Kutako International Airport, which is situated approximately 40 km from Windhoek. Collect your rented vehicle and drive to your accommodation in Windhoek.

Your journey takes you into the Southern Kalahari with its mixed tree and shrub Savanna, characterized by red sand dunes running parallel. A guided nature drive will enable you to experience the unique dune topography and the diverse bird and animal life. Enjoy sundowners on the red dunes as you experience the beauty of the Kalahari at sunset. Experience the dramatic change from blazing sunshine to twinkling stars.
Visit the Quivertree Forest and Giant’s Playground, a much-favored topic of photographers.
Continue south to the Gondwana Canyon Park. The daily life of the area’s early inhabitants, the Bondelswart-Nama, is depicted on murals in the restaurant and chalets.
Visit the famous Fish River Canyon, second largest natural canyon on earth. The canyon is a spectacular natural phenomenon that took hundreds of millions of years to evolve. It inspires awe in those who gaze into its depths from the viewpoints. The different viewpoints on the eastern rim of the canyon, which can be reached by car, offer spectacular views of the Canyon landscape and the river far below.
Continue west to the coastal town of Lüderitz, renowned for its old-world charm and distinctly German colonial architecture. Visit Kolmannskuppe, an interesting old ghost town of the diamond days. During the afternoon you can visit the surrounding bays of Lüderitz and the Dias Cross on Dias Point just next to the old light tower near Lüderitz.
A captivating feature of the Sperrgebiet are the legendary wild horses seen from the road when traveling between Lüderitz and Aus. Continue via Aus to a farm in the Tiras Mountains on the edge of the Namib Desert dunes. Whether on a scenic drive on the farm or on a walking trail, the landscape presents an abundance of breathtaking views and hosts a wealth of fauna and flora. The owners attend personally to the guests and provide interesting information about life at the edge of the Namib Desert.
Proceed through scenic landscapes to the legendary Duwisib Castle and continue through picturesque landscapes of the Namib desert to the Sesriem area, the entrance to the Namib Naukluft Park. Enjoy the unique desert scenery with some of the highest dunes in the world at Sossusvlei. The variety of colors and shapes are fantastic! The dunes tower over the Sossusvlei, a huge dried-up clay pan. The marvelous beauty of the Vlei with its dunes and ancient camel thorn trees more than amply rewards those who journey there. Visit also the Sesriem canyon which was carved into the rock by the seasonal Tsauchab River over a period of 2 million years. The name Sesriem stems from the days of the early settlers who had to tie six leather thongs to a bucket to scoop water from the bottom of the gorge.
Spend time at leisure in Swakopmund and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this coastal town, nestling between the desert and the Atlantic Ocean. Excursions like a boat cruise to witness the marine live, a tour into the dune belt to explore the “small five”, quad-biking in the nearby dunes or scenic flights can be booked. Enjoy fresh seafood in one of the many restaurants.
Drive inland past the Spitzkoppe Mountain via Usakos to the Erongo Mountains. Here Bushmen paintings are silent evidence of the early hunters who inhabited this area, telling stories of bygone eras. You can learn a lot of interesting facts about the Bushmen and their way of life and explore Bushman drawings.
Drive through typical African bush landscape to the Waterberg mountain range. Hiking, game watching, breathing in history, or just enjoying the peaceful scenery – there is something on offer for everyone.
In Okahandja you can visit an African Craft Market. Continue to a guest farm situated north of Windhoek. The old traditionally and in natural stone-built farmhouse is situated on top of a hill where one can enjoy breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding savannah and waterhole. The main attractions are the unique and professionally guided Leopard and Cheetah Drives, where one can see these beautiful predators and make stunning photographs.
Return to Namibia’s capital Windhoek, where you can spend some time shopping, visiting the many curio shops and the Namibia Craft Centre.
Drive back to the Hosea Kutako International Airport in time for your flight.
